I know that its hard getting back into school schedules. You have to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. You also don’t have as much free time to do what you want. The first couple weeks are especially the hardest because you’re just starting a bunch of new things. You’re brain was probably in hibernation for summer too. Here are some tips to get you back into your rhythm:

  1. Set an alarm- Set an alarm to wake you up. I know a lot of people use alarms but they don’t really wake you up. What you can do is set the alarm to the most annoying sound you can think of and put it to the loudest possible volume. Then put your phone somewhere you can’t reach it from your bed. That will get you up and running.

  2. Plan your outfits for the week- In the mourning before school you are always struggling time wise to get your outfit ready. I have a solution! During the weekends you figure out what you are going to wear for the rest of the week. You can either hang up all your clothes of fold them. After you have finished that you fold a paper hot dog style and cut it in half, then you write the names of each day of the week and put it with that outfit.

  3. Give yourself breaks- It’s hard to do all your homework at once so separate them into sections. After you finish working on a certain subject then take a break for 10-15 minutes. If you want you can work for 30 minuets then take a break for 10 minuets. You need to reward yourself.

  4. Stay organized- Make sure to keep everything where it is supposed to be. I recommend letting every subject have its own color. Don’t just shove paper into your backpack/binder bag, put it in a correct folder or section. This will make doing your homework a lot easier.

  5. Use sticky notes- When you are reading something from a textbook and you don’t really comprehend it very well jot it down on a sticky not. The next day you can go ask your teacher the question and then he/she can help you. When you are reading and you come across something in bold or important write it down so you can remember the important parts of the reading.

  6. Stay calm- Never get too stressed out. If you get REALLY stressed then you can have trouble sleeping, eating, staying healthy, doing homework, or focusing in class. If you don’t finish something or if you feel like you don’t understand something at all go to your teacher and they will help you. Remember, it’s not the end of the world.

You should use some of these tips to help with school, homework, and organization. Keep everything neat and organized and you will do fine. Remember, its never to late to get in that back to school rhythm. J
